I got into open water swimming 5 years ago.  I was living a pretty typical London life, between my job as a graphic designer and a busy social life.  Feeling insanely hectic most of the time, but too tired to do anything about it.  So I decided to do something to challenge myself and I signed up for my first open water 5km swim and I have never looked back.  Since then I’ve swum open water events all over the UK and the 21+km Vidosternsimmet in Sweden which has been my biggest achievement to date. I love exploring by swimming down idyllic rivers and along the coast all over
the UK, whether it’s in the hot summer months, relentless rain or freezing water.

Taking my hobby and passion to another level I currently manage the Love Open Water swimming venue in London, the London Royal Docks part-time and also coach for them. I have  gained a lot of experience whilst working at Love Open Water including helping manage the winter swimming season, their Sub10 challenge and help organise their Dock 2 Dock event. This has given me an in-depth knowledge of the sport and allowed me to build great relationships within the swimming community.

I’m a qualified open water swim coach, open water lifeguard and hold a power boat licence.  I am truly so happy I found open water swimming. It’s a sport for everyone, from summer dippers to hard-core endurance athletes. There’s just nothing that beats the buzz
of being outdoors in the water, it never gets dull.  It also offers a chance to see parts of the country and the world that you’d never expect to find.
